Traditional thermic lances are known for their powerful cutting abilities, allowing tasks to be completed quickly. However, their burn rate and short length often require frequent pipe changes, leading to reduced productivity. Additionally, their use in hazardous environments, like furnace fronts, can pose serious safety concerns.

To overcome these issues, our team, in collaboration with engineers from top steel mills, has developed the Rolled Thermic Lance. This advanced product addresses the shortcomings of traditional lances, delivering improved efficiency and greater safety.

Rolled Thermic Lance: Cutting with Precision and Efficiency

The Thermic Lance is a steel pipe with a hollow core packed with steel wires, primarily used for cleaning, melting, and cutting large or heavy metal materials.

To meet the growing demand for enhanced product features and operator safety, an upgraded version called the Rolled Thermic Lance was introduced, offering numerous additional benefits and conveniences.

The Rolled Thermic Lance is a renovated adaptation of the traditional thermic lance, designed to meet the growing demands for better performance and safety in industrial cutting applications. It is primarily used for cleaning, cutting, and melting large or heavy metal materials.

Key features of the Rolled Thermic Lance include:

  • Extended Length: Available in roll-type form, the lance can extend from 5.5m to 30m or more, reducing the need for frequent pipe replacements.
  • Semi-Automatic Operation: The lance can be controlled with minimal human intervention, significantly enhancing operator convenience and safety.
  • Material Efficiency: The remaining pipe ends, after each roll is consumed, can be straightened and reused, minimizing material wastage and saving costs.

By utilizing the Rolled Thermic Lance, industries can enhance their cutting performance, especially in high-hardness and large-sized material applications. Once each roll (approx. 33 meters in length) is fully used, the remaining pipe ends can be reused. This is done by straightening the leftover sections using a specialized machine and connecting them with a quick coupling to join two separate rolls. The ability to reuse remaining pipes contributes to more sustainable and cost-effective operations.

Straighten & Reroll Machine

To complement the Rolled Thermic Lance, the Straighten & Reroll Machine has been developed to streamline the handling of the lance pipes. This semi-automatic machine significantly reduces manual labour and boosts efficiency in cutting operations.

Technical Specifications of the Straighten & Reroll Machine

  • The function is to straighten the remaining lance pipes and connect it to the new roll
  • Motor Power: 2.2KW, 380V
  • Straightening Speed: 0.2m/second
  • Roll Pipe Diameter: 1m
  • Machine Weight: 800kg

Operating Principles of the Straighten & Reroll Machine

  1. Straightening the Pipe:

To straighten the remaining rolled pipes after they have been used.

Procedure:

  • Insert the remaining pipe into the machine, positioning the pipe tip into the roll.
  • Use the push-button switch to manually inch the pipe and straighten it.
  • Adjust the rollers to ensure the pipe is fully straightened.
  • Extend the pipe to the desired length for oxyacetylene cutting.

2. Rerolling and Connecting to a New Roll:

To connect the remaining pipe to a new roll, allowing continuous use without interruption.

Procedure:

  • After completing the cutting process, engage the reverse switch to wind up the remaining pipe.
  • Carefully connect the remaining pipe to a new roll, ensuring the system is ready for continued cutting.

The Straighten & Reroll Machine provides a timesaving, efficient method for handling lance pipes, improving overall productivity while minimizing risks associated with manual pipe replacement.

Benefits of the Rolled Thermic Lance and Straighten & Reroll Machine

This integrated system offers several key benefits:

  • Increased Efficiency: The extended length of the lance and the semi-automatic handling reduce downtime and increase output.
  • Enhanced Safety: By minimizing manual intervention, operator safety is improved, especially in hazardous environments like furnaces.
  • Material Conservation: The ability to reuse pipe ends significantly reduces material wastage, lowering operational costs.
  • Streamlined Operations: The Straighten & Reroll Machine allows for seamless transitions between rolls, ensuring a continuous cutting process without interruptions.

Conclusion

The combination of the Rolled Thermic Lance and Straighten & Reroll Machine brings a revolutionary approach to industrial cutting. By enhancing both productivity and safety, these innovations set a new standard in cutting technology. Companies can look forward to a more efficient, cost-effective, and safe operation, ultimately leading to improved production outcomes.

For industries seeking to adopt more advanced and sustainable cutting methods, the Rolled Thermic Lance and Straighten & Reroll Machine provide an ideal solution that meets the highest demands of modern industrial environments.
